Production Scheduler

Production Planner / Shop Floor Link (Supply Chain – Assembly Operation) TE

About the Role

A critical position bridging planning and production, this role ensures seamless material movement through the shop floor—from release to manufacture to delivery—supporting on-time stocking and customer fulfilment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capacity Planning & Allocation

    • Work with the Production Supervisor to plan and allocate capacity dynamically, accommodacting contingencies like urgent drop-in jobs or reworks.
  • Kit Shortage Mitigation

    • Act as the responsible owner for kit shortages, ensuring jobs proceed as soon as components are available and re-releasing them to the shop floor immediately.
  • Quality & Issue Coordination

    • Single point of contact for assembly teams/supervisors to:
      • Log quality issues
      • Document mechanical (ME) faults
      • Organise scrap replacements
      • Update SAP for jobs plunged into long-term hold, improving information flow back to planners.

  • Production Intake & Execution Alignment

    • In partnership with the VS Planner, VS Supervisor, and VS Team Leader:
      • Oversee production order release for the assembly line.
      • Align daily output with assembly capacity, directing urgent shipments and tracking progress through production.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Operate as the operational interface between VS Supervisor and Supply Chain leadership.
    • Assist in exception management, proactively resolving production bottlenecks.
  • Relevant Meetings

    • Regular attendance at Production Planning Meetings (PIM 1 & 2).

Required Experience & Skills

  • SAP Proficiency: Essential—operational experience with production schedules and system updates.
  • Workflow Mastery: Hands-on experience managing and refining workflows, with a focus on continuous-flow improvements.
  • Digital Literacy: Advanced familiarity with Excel and related business software to handle data-driven planning.
  • Problem-Solving Attitude: Jump into challenges with initiative, a can-do mindset, and passion for operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to navigate diverse teams effectively—to support collaboration across Planning, Production, and Quality.
