Production Shift Manager
Shift Pattern - 6am-2pm rotating with 2pm-10pm & 10pm - 6am
We have a new role at Valeo Foods in Gateshead the heart of tortilla & rice cake magic! We're on the lookout for a passionate and driven Production Shift Manager to join our production crew.

As the Production Shift Manager, you will lead the production area and people for your shift. You will have full accountability for the following:
People Management
- Lead and supervise a team of production operators, technicians, and support staff within the designated area.
- Foster a positive team culture by providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Oversee training and development to ensure staff are fully trained and compliant with company procedures and the plant is manned correctly to cover absence, holidays, etc.
- Ensure effective communication across shifts and between departments to maintain smooth operations.
Production & Process Management
- Oversee daily production activities, ensuring adherence to production schedules and operational targets.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
- Optimize processes for continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to production timelines and quality standards.
GMP & Safety Compliance
- Ensure all operations comply with GMP standards, health, safety regulations, and food safety policies.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of the production area to ensure cleanliness, safety, and quality.

Qualifications
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food or confectionery industry.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, health & safety, and food safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to drive results against set targets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- IT and PC knowledge – able to use widespread functions within relevant software.
- Ability to work alone, or as part of a team with the ability to work quickly and under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
- An aptitude to develop new skills.
