Job Summary

Gardner Denver is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee a team of skilled operatives in our Redditch factory, manufacturing large air compressors.

This role involves:

  • Leading daily production activities
  • Ensuring quality, efficiency, and output targets are met
  • Driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes

  • Production Planning & Coordination
    • Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet output and quality targets

  • Performance & KPI Management

    • Monitor and improve KPIs, including efficiency, scrap rates, and downtime
    • Identify gaps in team skill levels using a skills matrix, organising training as required
  • Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement

    • Lead initiatives to address production challenges and drive operational enhancements
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ManEng, EHS, Quality, HR) to implement improvements
  • People & Team Leadership

    • Manage staffing, shift cover, and absences, including return-to-work and absence reviews
    • Liaise with HR for disciplinary investigations and conduct performance reviews
    • Support the development of junior team leaders
  • Compliance & Policy Enforcement

    • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within manufacturing (preferably in mechanical assembly/compression)
  • Strong understanding of production processes and quality control standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills
  • IT proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems
