Production Support Assistant


Role Overview

Support essential operations in supply chain logistics while ensuring smooth day-to-day manufacturing processes align with production planning, stock control, and reporting at Magnet.


About the Role

The Production Support Assistant contributes to the high-quality delivery of Magnet’s kitchen products by providing operational support across:

  • Production planning
  • Stock control
  • Systems management
  • Reporting accuracy

Our manufacturing sites are critical for meeting customer expectations. Success in this role requires accuracy, adaptability, and a passion for continuous improvement in a dynamic industrial environment.


Responsibilities

Daily Operations

  • Assist with production planning, ensuring accuracy in shop orders, bookings and live bookings.
  • Help Team Leaders with stock location validation, issue resolution, and real-time audits across production floors.
  • Maintain high stock control accuracy and daily documentation in line with ATO specifications.

Process & Compliance

  • Oversee EXPI and scrap control checks, manage pallet movements and transfers, and record live load movements.
  • Complete scrap audits and maintain compliance with PI reporting and system data integrity.
  • Generate and submit weekly/monthly operational reports, escalating risks and recurring issues promptly.

Technical & Administrative

  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance, correct system data, and align role activities with magnet’s continuous improvement standards.
  • Support basic system access requests and application troubleshooting as required.

Requirements

Core Skills & Experience

  • Strong communication skills with experience collaborating across departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to analyze processes independently, problem-solve, and prioritize tasks under deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Organised mindset with excellent time management and prioritization under pressure.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior supply chain, production, or manufacturing experience—though not mandatory for ambitious applicants.

Role Details

Reports to: Technical Development Manager

Location: Darlington Work Schedule: Rotating shifts

  • 6:00am – 2:00pm
  • 2:00pm – 10:00pm
  • 10:00pm – 6:00am Contract: 37.5/39 hours per week Salary: £13.09/hour + shift allowance
