Production Support Engineer – Equities Trading | Global Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund | London

A leading global multi-strategy hedge fund is seeking a Production Support Engineer to join its Equities technology team, supporting business-critical trading platforms used directly by Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Analysts.

This role sits shoulder-to-shoulder with the front office, offering genuine exposure to the investment process and the opportunity to make a direct impact on trading performance. You'll work across the full equities technology stack while partnering closely with the business to improve workflows, automate processes, and deliver long-term engineering solutions.

This is an exciting time to join the firm as it continues to invest heavily across both discretionary and systematic trading, expand into new markets, and build next-generation technology platforms. Engineering sits at the heart of the business, with significant investment in automation, AI, and platform modernisation, creating a strong pipeline of greenfield projects.

The Role

  • Provide front office equities production support working across OMS, EMS, PnL, risk, research, reporting, and compliance platforms
  • Work directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Analysts to investigate issues, optimise workflows, and improve the overall trading experience
  • Monitor the health, availability, and performance of business-critical trading systems, proactively identifying risks before they impact the business
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across Windows, Linux, cloud, and internally developed applications, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes
  • Develop automation using Python, PowerShell, SQL, and AI-driven tooling to reduce operational overhead and improve platform reliability
  • Support technologies including FIX connectivity, market data, messaging middleware, scheduling platforms, and monitoring solutions
  • Collaborate with developers, quantitative teams, infrastructure engineers, and external vendors to deliver strategic technology improvements
  • Proactively build knowledge of AI, working to scale out effectiveness of AI agents.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
