Kinetic Recruitment are proud to be supporting a leading engineering and service organisation in their search for a Production Support Operator to join their Service Centre team based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse, logistics or stores professional with forklift, overhead crane and vehicle marshalling certifications to join a well-established business operating within a fast-paced technical environment.
The Role
As a Production Support Operator, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the Service Centre, ensuring materials, components and products are received, stored, controlled and dispatched accurately and efficiently. Working closely with operational and technical teams, you will help maintain inventory accuracy, support logistics activities and contribute to a safe and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Receiving, inspecting and processing incoming deliveries and customer returns.
- Unloading vehicles safely and checking deliveries against accompanying documentation.
- Booking stock into inventory management systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Organising and managing storage locations to maximise efficiency and accessibility.
- Picking, packing and preparing goods for dispatch to customers and suppliers.
- Supporting stock control activities, including cycle counts, stock checks and audits.
- Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies and inventory-related issues.
- Coordinating the movement of materials between goods-in, storage and operational teams.
- Operating forklifts, overhead cranes and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Supporting vehicle marshalling activities on site.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the Service Centre.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must have:
- Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- Valid Overhead Crane certification.
- Vehicle Marshalling certification or demonstrable experience.
- Previous experience within warehouse, logistics, stores, inventory control or service centre environments.
- Experience using warehouse management, inventory control or ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of stock management and inventory accuracy.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy operational environment.
- Strong communication skills and a positive team-focused attitude.
