Production Systems Technician
Quality Systems Co-ordinator (Shift-Based) – FSQ Department
The Quality Systems Co-ordinator is a pivotal role within Dunbia’s FSQ (Food Safety & Quality) team, based at our Retail site. This position will involve managing business-critical IT systems that control technical and quality-related information onsite. The role is IT-focused, requiring a technologically passionate individual with strong attention to detail to ensure systems are accurately maintained and aligned with operational needs.
About the Role

As part of Dunbia’s existing site team, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and overseeing business-critical IT systems related to food safety, labelling, and data integrity.
- Operating on a shift basis, including weekend work, to ensure 24/7 system accuracy and reliability.
Responsibilities
The Quality Systems Co-ordinator (QSC) will:

Daily Management of Label Designs & Verification:
- Oversee label designs across multiple IT-based systems.
- Verify that online-printed information (e.g., PLU codes, batch numbers, expiry dates) is accurate and correctly displayed on shop-floor systems.

Data & Traceability Maintenance:
- Maintain PLU (Price Look-Up) files for products across data management systems (e.g., Emydex).
- Update batch traceability tables in relevant IT-based systems.

Retail Pricing & Compliance:
- Ensure retail pricing information is updated timely and accurately in line with production schedules and processing times.

Approval Processes for Labeling:
- Generate and verify test labels and system screenshots for approval before operational use.
- Ensure labels meet legal, technical, customer, and operational requirements.
- Counter-sign and approve with the Technical Account Manager and FSQ staff.

Problem-Solving & Operational Efficiency:
- Collaborate with Operations, IT, and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot and implement system changes for optimum labelling equipment performance.

Stakeholder Communication:
- Alert and inform Operations & FSQ departments of pricing, label, or system changes.
Requirements
Essential
- Excellent communication skills with a "can-do" attitude and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Effective time management and capacity to meet deadlines while interfacing with key stakeholders.
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Strong computer literacy with troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with shop-floor IT-based systems (essential).

Desirable
- Knowledge of the red meat supply chain and UK retailer industry, preferably with prior experience in the food sector (particularly in quality assurance, label verification, or IT-based labelling systems).
- Understanding of UK food labelling legislation and compliance.
