Role - FMCG PRODUCTION TEAM LEADER

c£38k + Bonus + EXCELLENT Benefits

PERMANENT ROLE

ESTABLISHED PROFITABLE MANUFACTURING BUSINESS

DAY SHIFT MONDAY TO FRIDAY 06:00 – 14:00 / 14:00 – 22:00 (alternating shifts)

Our client is a leader in their field. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Leader who would be responsible for organising and supporting production teams to manufacture product safely, efficiently, and in line with food safety, quality, and operational standards. The role ensures workflow is managed effectively, performance is monitored, and day-to-day issues are escalated or resolved to support delivery of the production plan.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver the agreed production plan in full and on time, ensuring Works Orders are processed correctly and completely.
  • Organise staff, monitor workflow, and manage day-to-day production requirements from materials receipt through to warehouse allocation.
  • Complete daily reporting on REDZONE system.
  • Manage, develop, and motivate the team; set targets in line with department needs and monitor performance through the Company appraisal process.
  • Conduct return-to-work interviews, investigations, disciplinary hearings, and grievance hearings in accordance with Company policies.
  • Ensure all staff understand and comply with Technical and QA procedures, including accurate and timely completion of QA checks.
  • Ensure all staff within production understand and comply with Health and Safety procedures, including control measures arising from risk assessments.
  • Develop and recommend improvements to equipment, processes, and procedures to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Embed Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques into normal working practices.
  • Assist the Production Manager with recruitment and training of team members in line with Company policy and employment legislation.

  • Experience building & leading teams within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office suite and production reporting systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative, to deadlines, and with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques advantageous but not essential
  • FLT licence / Flexi licence advantageous but not essential
