Job Description Role Overview As a dynamic Production Technical Support Manager, you'll spearhead operational excellence by leading a specialized team that transforms production challenges into innovative solutions, driving continuous improvement across the entire production landscape. Your leadership will be instrumental in modernizing processes, optimizing performance, and fostering cross-functional collaboration that directly impacts product quality, yield improvement, and manufacturing competitiveness. Key responsibilities Lead and drive adherence to ROP. Manage a team of technical specialists (Production Engineer, Production Chemist) to deliver technical solutions for production operations. Lead troubleshooting of complex technical issues affecting production performance, quality, or efficiency and blocker process. Drive process optimization projects to improve yields, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Establish and maintain technical standards, procedures, and best practices across the production area. Ensure technical compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and HSE policies. Provide technical leadership during production emergencies, deviations, and critical situations. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams on equipment upgrades, modifications, and reliability improvements. Develop technical competencies within the production organization through training and knowledge sharing. Serve as technical liaison between production and other departments (Engineering, Maintenance, ManEx, HSE, Quality). Analyze production data and trends to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions (in partnership with the local ManEx team). Provide manufacturing inputs for Capex projects. Evaluate and implement new technologies to modernize production processes and improve competitiveness. Support the transformation of legacy processes into the Syngenta Production System (SPS). Accountable for safe and successful cleanout and commissioning stages of outage process. Qualifications Required skills and experience Ideally Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Engineering or other relevant technical discipline Experience in a technical or operations role Operational excellence/Lean Manufacturing knowledge Proficient digital skills Additional Information Work Level: 4A At the Huddersfield Manufacturing Centre we make important Crop Protection products that are used in over 120 countries worldwide.
