THE OPPORTUNITY – PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIST

Provides Production Technology support to the Asset team to ensure economic production from Morecambe is maximized every day to the end of field life.

Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Duration: 2-year contract
Contract Type: PAYE
Day Rate: TBC - For your application to be progressed, please ensure you provide a PAYE day rate banding expectation. Please note that there is no travel and accommodation allowance provided. Please only apply if you have existing right-to-work in the UK. Please outline notice period/availability to start.

Spirit Energy currently have a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for all office-based workers. 4 days must be worked in the office with compulsory days being Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The fourth day worked in-office (either Monday or Friday) is of the worker’s choosing but should be in keeping with what is most efficient and effective for their team. The office is open 5 days a week for full time, in-office working if this is the contractor’s preference.

AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT…

In role, you will be required to:

  • Implement well & reservoir management activities that optimise the daily production from the Morecambe fields.
  • Develop and maintain a structured well surveillance plan to ensure wells are operated within their safe operating envelop.
  • Lead the preparation of the short-term production forecasts for the assets.
  • Input to assumptions used for long-term production forecast preparations.
  • Ensure appropriate well and system network modelling are available.
  • Identify technologies and, if appropriate, mature solutions that could aid maximising production from existing wells.
  • Chair the daily and weekly production optimisation meetings to ensure all wells and facilities are optimised to maximise production.
  • Generate and manage the asset choke model and collaborate with teams to identify production bottlenecks and production performance improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure production losses are identified, recorded, and where appropriate, actions are taken to mitigate reoccurrence.
  • Input to annual budget process to ensure any well interventions are budgeted for.
  • Act as a Lead investigator using Kelvin TopSet investigation techniques to support business requirements.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, we are looking for:

  • Educated to degree level, ideally this would be in subsurface or production field.
  • Production Engineer/Petroleum Engineering Skillset who is able to critically review the validity of production forecasts.
  • An understanding of gas processing processes.
