The Role: Production Test Technician

The Production Technician, based in Newton, Cambridge, UK, is responsible for assembling and testing product to a high standard as per documented procedures, documents, and drawings.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test electronic assemblies to a high standard, meeting production schedules.
  • Maintain concise test and production records.
  • Ensure good attention to detail.
  • Support the Production Engineering Team with validating assembly and test processes when required.
  • Assist in the training of production operators.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with safety legislation.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet and exceed customers’ needs.

Required Experience, Education, Skills & Competencies

Essential

  • Proficiency in PC literacy with Excel & Word.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to write clearly.
  • High emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.

Advantageous

  • Relevant experience in a product manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of PCB assembly and fault-finding.
  • Ability to solder to J-STD-001 and inspect to IPC 610 Class 3.
  • Familiarity with IPC and ISO standards.
