The Role: Production Test Technician
The Production Technician, based in Newton, Cambridge, UK, is responsible for assembling and testing product to a high standard as per documented procedures, documents, and drawings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assemble and test electronic assemblies to a high standard, meeting production schedules.
- Maintain concise test and production records.
- Ensure good attention to detail.
- Support the Production Engineering Team with validating assembly and test processes when required.
- Assist in the training of production operators.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with safety legislation.
- Collaborate with the team to meet and exceed customers’ needs.

Required Experience, Education, Skills & Competencies
Essential
- Proficiency in PC literacy with Excel & Word.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Strong communication skills and ability to write clearly.
- High emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
Advantageous
- Relevant experience in a product manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of PCB assembly and fault-finding.
- Ability to solder to J-STD-001 and inspect to IPC 610 Class 3.
- Familiarity with IPC and ISO standards.
