Position Summary

As a Production Operative at Midlands Composites, you’ll perform routine manufacturing tasks under direct supervision while maintaining a zero-accident safety culture. You’ll operate specialised machinery, ensure quality standards, and contribute to smooth production flow.


Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Operate and maintain subassembly equipment, coating equipment, ovens, and material handling machinery, including hoists, cranes, tow motors, and pallet trucks.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete preventative maintenance, documenting findings.
  • Monitor, measure, and record quality assurance data, such as dimensions, weight, and performance metrics.
  • Enforce safety protocols—wear PPE, maintain a clean workspace, and report hazards.
  • Track production orders, ensuring efficient material movement and workflow.
  • Follow detailed instructions and technical prints precisely for setup and operation.
  • Adhere to strict quality criteria to meet system requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Education: Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships, or relevant work experience.
  • Experience: 0–2 years in production/machinery fields.
  • Proficient in using hand tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges) and specialised equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and problem-solve using existing procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
