Position Overview

The Production Operator is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by preparing materials, operating production equipment, packaging finished products, and maintaining quality and safety standards. This role follows established operating procedures to ensure products are manufactured efficiently and meet H.B. Fuller quality requirements. The position requires the ability to work safely in a production environment and support continuous operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare raw materials and packaging materials, ensuring correct quantities are available for production.
  • Transport materials to designated production areas and report any deviations from standard processes.
  • Operate processing and filling equipment according to approved work instructions and procedures.
  • Monitor equipment performance and maintain target production rates.
  • Complete initial product testing and release activities to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Verify labels and packaging materials, ensuring accurate product identification and compliance with requirements.
  • Package finished products in accordance with H.B. Fuller quality standards and work instructions.
  • Follow all quality standards, operating procedures, and EHS regulations.
  • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards within assigned work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma, general education diploma (GED), or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, production processes, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Basic mathematics skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentage calculations.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Ability to manually lift, place, and stack containers weighing a minimum of 8 kg throughout a shift, with some manual handling tasks requiring up to 20 kg.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stretch, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds, or up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Preferred Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Basic English communication and comprehension skills.
  • Experience operating automated filling or production equipment.
  • Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) license preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and manufacturing safety requirements.

Physical Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to normal levels of temperature variation, dust, odors, and noise associated with chemical production operations. Regular standing, walking, reaching, bending, and manual material handling are required.
