Product/UX Designer
Product/UX Designer
The Opportunity: Our client is a leading European investment manager with a strong focus on delivering exceptional digital experiences for their investor base. They're looking for a talented Product/UX Designer to join a multi-disciplinary team — working alongside Product Managers, Content Designers, Data Analysts, UX Researchers and scrum teams. The core of the role is understanding customer needs and translating them into thoughtful, well-crafted digital experiences.
The position sits within a specific value stream of the customer lifecycle and has a particular focus on European public websites serving both professional and retail investors. The goal of these platforms is to build brand awareness, engage financial advisors and wealth managers, and educate end investors. A background in the investment space, particularly within a professional investor context, would be a distinct advantage.
Design Skills Solid understanding of WCAG 2.2 and inclusive design principles; an accessibility certification would be a bonus. Familiarity with gov.uk content guidelines. Confident working within Design Systems (Storybook & Figma) and able to produce polished prototypes from established building blocks. Experience with AEM or similar CMS platforms. Comfortable balancing design consistency with the judgment to know when to deviate from it. Able to support research activities across the full cycle — from discussion guides and prototypes through to insight synthesis and usability testing. Capable of driving design work independently and managing sign-off with business, legal and compliance stakeholders. Proactive in engaging both immediate stakeholders (Marketing, Content, fellow designers) and broader SMEs across legal, compliance, strategy and sales. Contributes actively to the wider Design practice through show and tell and a genuine commitment to raising the craft. Works from hypothesis and problem statements rather than jumping straight to solutions. Highly proficient in Figma — the primary tool for all design output.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Designer Traits Comfortable juggling multiple projects in a lean team environment, switching context without losing quality. A UI perfectionist with a keen eye for ensuring the design translates faithfully into the end experience. Self-directed and confident in knowing what needs to be done without waiting to be tasked. Genuinely curious — obsessed with understanding how products and processes work and always looking to learn. A strong team player who builds trust through open, proactive communication and embraces design debate. Strategic thinker who can see the impact of their work beyond their immediate remit. Considered and thorough — takes time to understand root causes before reaching for a solution. Confident presenting and articulating ideas to stakeholders at all levels.

Experience Proven track record designing for CMS-based websites. Experience within asset management is strongly preferred. The role spans websites in multiple European languages including German, Spanish, Italian and French. Fluency in one of these — particularly German — is highly desirable.
