Job Introduction

Are you passionate about developing people, supporting learners and making a real impact across health and care services?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Professional Development Officer to join our Professional Development Team within The Learning Enterprise. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the development of future healthcare professionals while helping to create excellent learning environments across a national organisation.

Please note: This is a single vacancy being advertised across multiple UK locations to maximise reach, as the role is primarily remote. We kindly ask that applicants submit one application only, as duplicate applications will not be considered.

About The Role

As a Professional Development Officer, you'll work closely with Professional Development Leads, operational teams, education providers and healthcare stakeholders to ensure students and learners have access to high-quality placement experiences and professional development opportunities.

You'll help coordinate student placements, support quality assurance processes, manage professional development data, assist with education funding activities and contribute to projects that enhance learning across the organisation.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines stakeholder engagement, project coordination, data analysis and continuous improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships while driving positive outcomes.

This is a full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week) that offers mainly remote working with National travel when required.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting high-quality student placements and learner experiences across services.
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams, universities and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating placement audits, agreements and quality review processes.
  • Monitoring placement activity, learner feedback and key performance indicators.
  • Managing professional development records, databases and performance trackers.
  • Supporting education funding applications, tracking and reporting.
  • Producing reports, analysing data and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Organising engagement events, training sessions and communication activities for learners and educators.
  • Supporting services to increase placement capacity and attract future talent.
  • Contributing to projects, service improvements and professional development initiatives across the organisation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About The Company

We change lives by transforming health and care.

Established in 2006, we are one of the UK's leading independent providers of community health and care services, working with health and care commissioners and communities to transform services with a focus on experience, efficiency, and improved outcomes. We deliver and transform adult and children community health services, primary care services including urgent care, sexual health, dermatology and MSK services as well as adult social care and wellbeing services. Across England, we support communities of many millions and directly help more than half a million people each year - guided by our simple values: we care, we think, we do.

We're committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from a broad, diverse range of people who want to join our team. We’re a Disability Confident Committed company, so we work to provide facilities, work environment adjustments and technical solutions to be as inclusive of everyone.

While it doesn’t happen often, sometimes a role is very popular, and we’ll need to close it earlier than the date we’ve shown here. If you’re keen to join our team, we’d love to hear from you so please apply as soon as you can.

As you’d expect, safeguarding and protecting the children, young people and vulnerable adults that we work with is of the utmost importance so we have policies and procedures in place to promote safeguarding and safer working practices and everyone who joins the team is subject to a safer recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks.

Finally, we need to let you know that the company you’ll work for is part of HCRG Care Group Holdings Limited and by applying for this job we’ll need to process and hold information about you. If you would like to know a little more about how we use your information, please see our website's privacy policy.
