Role Overview
Join Caytons, Gallagher Bassett’s in-house law firm, and become part of a growing legal team. This remote-based opportunity means you’ll:
- Own a varied, engaging caseload with every chance to progress
- Work in a highly regarded in-house setting with room to develop
- Handle Professional Indemnity claims, plus exposure to Drivers’ Negligence
- Serve clients across diverse professions—construction, architects, solicitors, engineers, accountants, brokers, and insurers

How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Claims Handler – Professional Indemnity, you’ll:
- Progress claims efficiently within SLAs and KPIs
- Review policy coverage to assess liability and indemnity decisions fairly
- Apply insurer philosophies while working under clear delegated authority
- Maintain high-quality file notes and accurate management information
- Support bordereaux reporting and administrative processes
- Collaborate with the admin team to streamline workflows

About You
We’re looking for a driven professional with:
- Direct experience managing Professional Indemnity claims (essential)
- A legal background (degree, LPC or equivalent is desirable)
- Past roles as a Claims Handler, Adjuster, or TPA/insurer litigator (preferred)
- Authority under delegation experience, with a sharp understanding of referral processes
- Chanelling attention to detail — or else, forget this job
- Proactive client focus, stronger negotiation skills, and decisiveness
- The stamina to operate independently while maintaining collaboration
