Role: Professional Negligence Lawyer

Location: Manchester or London (Hybrid – 3 days in the office)

Purpose:

Manage a caseload of professional indemnity and professional negligence claims while supporting complex litigation, delivering high-quality legal advice, and contributing to the wider legal practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle professional negligence claims from inception through to resolution or trial.
  • Manage an independent caseload, with support on complex and high-value matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, court documents, and legal correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic case analysis.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and client meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to legal projects, committee work, and business development initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of file management, regulatory compliance, and use of legal technology

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience handling professional negligence and/or professional indemnity litigation.
  • Insurance litigation experience highly desirable.
  • Strong legal drafting, advocacy, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Confident managing a caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Organised, commercially aware, and committed to professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister (England & Wales) with post-qualification experience (PQE).
