About the Role
The Targeted Youth Support team, part of Lancashire County Council's Children and Family Wellbeing Service, is looking to recruit a permanent full-time 37-hour (JNC qualified) Professional Range Youth Worker to work across Preston & South Ribble district. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, organized, and passionate about making a difference and changing young people’s lives.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of youth work opportunities in various settings, including youth clubs, in collaboration with schools, and other agencies.
- Report to a Team Leader and work closely with other youth work staff and volunteers.
- Design and develop youth work responses underpinned by the 4 cornerstones of youth work: equality, participation, education, and empowerment.
- Focus on vulnerable and at-risk groups to deliver preventative programs, evidencing learning outcomes, and delivering to targets.
- Establish new initiatives and deliver stimulating and challenging youth work programs.
- Work in group settings and deliver one-to-one sessions to identified individuals.
- Quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people and partners.
- Respond flexibly to the needs and priorities of the service.
- Record data on a management information system, meet targets, produce reports, and correspond with young people, parents, and partners.
- Deliver face-to-face work in accordance with JNC terms and conditions, including trips, activity days, and residentials.
- Travel across the districts and county.

Requirements
- A nationally recognized JNC qualification for Youth and Community Workers.
- Working towards the qualification or have a wealth of youth work experience and be willing to undertake the study to gain the qualification while in employment with Lancashire County Council.
- Good IT, organization, and communication skills.
