Professional Services Consultant (On-Site Engagement)
Location: London (Moorgate) or Remote
About the Role
Professional Services at Fortinet plays a vital role in delivering exceptional technical support and services. As a Professional Services Consultant, you’ll work collaboratively with customers and peers to enhance customer satisfaction through On-site engagements.
Your responsibilities include providing cost-effective, high-quality technical services, supporting Fortinet solutions during design, deployment, testing, optimization, and operational stages. You’ll drive success by fostering technical expertise, ensuring structured communication, and maintaining collaborative relationships across clients and Fortinet teams.
This role requires continuous skill development through training and hands-on experience. Experience in predictive and innovative approaches to network security processes is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists customers during the Think and Build phases of a project
- Develops and maintains technical project documentation, including:
- High/low-level design documentation
- Methods of procedure (MoPs)
- Test plans
- Configuration templates and scripts
- Provisions, customizes, and verifies Fortinet configurations based on approved designs
- Tests and validates Fortinet solutions while verifying system behaviour
- Participates in interoperability and integration testing for third-party devices interacting with Fortinet products
- Recommends and implements Fortinet best practices
- Resolves or escalates technical issues promptly and effectively
- Provides knowledge transfer to client staff
- Develops and maintains core competency in Fortinet’s product line and technologies

Job Requirements
Technical Experience
- 7+ years of experience in LAN/WAN/Network Security Products
- Design and implementation experience with:
- FortiGate solutions
- Major 3rd-party security solutions
- Proficiency in complex routing and WAN environments, including BGP, OSPF
- Hands-on experience in MPLS network design and deployment, particularly L3 VPN
- Exposure to MSSP or managed service environments:
- Multi-tenancy management
- Monitoring and reporting
- Supportability frameworks
- Experience in scripting and automation for:
- Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP)
- Orchestrator integration
- Controller and dashboard development

Soft Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional communication and technical documentation skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team in a collaborative environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience working across multi-disciplinary teams
- Positive customer service attitude with strong soft skills
Education
- A university degree in a technical or management discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
