Professional Support Lawyer – Private Client (Asset Protection)

Location: Edinburgh

Firm: Leading Scottish Firm | L500 Ranked Private Client Team

Salary: Lucrative Salary + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

The Role & The Work

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to move into a Professional Support Lawyer role within a highly regarded, L500 ranked Private Client team in Edinburgh.

  • Join a specialist Asset Protection team advising on a broad range of matters including succession planning, trusts, and complex tax work.
  • Support the team through the development and management of knowledge resources, ensuring legal and technical excellence is maintained across the practice.
  • Work closely with Partners and senior lawyers to maintain and develop precedents, guidance notes, and internal knowledge systems.
  • Support fee earners on complex legal research and technical queries, while monitoring legal and tax developments and delivering clear, practical updates to the wider team.
  • Deliver and coordinate internal training, supporting the onboarding and development of junior lawyers, and contributing to continuous improvement across team processes.
  • Work alongside wider business functions on innovation initiatives, including the use of legal technology and automation, as well as supporting marketing materials and legal directory submissions.

Your Experience

  • Scots Qualified Solicitor with 5+ PQE in Private Client
  • Strong experience in tax, trusts, and succession planning
  • Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills
  • Clear and confident communicator
  • Interest in knowledge development, training, and legal innovation
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
