Are you an experienced Motor Vehicle professional with a passion for developing the next generation of automotive talent? Do you want to share your industry knowledge and help learners build rewarding careers in the motor vehicle sector?

As a Motor Vehicle Professional Trainer, you will play a key role in supporting apprentices and learners throughout their training journey. You will deliver high-quality theory and practical training, carry out workplace assessments and reviews, and work closely with employers to ensure learners develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to succeed in the automotive industry.

This is an exciting opportunity for an industry professional looking to move into education and training, or for an experienced trainer seeking their next challenge within a dynamic and supportive college environment.

Duties

  • Deliver engaging theory and practical training in Motor Vehicle programmes.
  • Manage the overall delivery of apprenticeships and part-time learner programmes.
  • Conduct workplace assessments, observations, and progress reviews.
  • Support learner recruitment activities, including interviews and open events.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality learning resources and training materials.
  • Monitor learner progress and achievement using OneFile and other systems.
  • Support learners in achieving Functional Skills and additional learning support requirements.
  • Prepare learners for End Point Assessment (EPA) and final assessments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and industry partners.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance that inspires learners to achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure delivery is compliant with Apprenticeship Standards, awarding body requirements, and OFSTED expectations.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A recognised qualification within a Motor Vehicle discipline.
  • Significant industry experience within the automotive sector.
  • Strong practical and technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring, training, or assessing others (desirable).
  • A teaching and/or assessor qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining current industry knowledge.
