PMO Lead

Horsham – Hybrid (3DPW in office)
Up to £80,000 + bonus

VIQU are partnering with a leading financial services organisation delivering a large-scale technology transformation programme. As part of an established portfolio delivery function, they are looking for an experienced PMO Lead to oversee governance, financial management, resource planning, reporting, and assurance across a complex portfolio of technology change. This is a highly visible role, working closely with senior stakeholders to provide the insight, controls, and governance required to successfully deliver strategic programmes within a fast-paced, enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities of the PMO Lead:

  • Lead the PMO function across a large portfolio of technology programmes, driving consistency, governance, and delivery excellence
  • Oversee portfolio governance including risk, issue, dependency, and change control management
  • Produce high-quality portfolio reporting, management information, and executive-level documentation for senior governance forums
  • Manage portfolio financials including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and third-party spend reporting
  • Coordinate portfolio resource planning, demand forecasting, and capacity management
  • Support Programme and Project Managers with business case development, stage gate preparation, and delivery controls
  • Facilitate cross-programme dependency management, ensuring key milestones and deliverables remain aligned
  • Challenge and influence senior stakeholders to ensure effective governance, risk management, and delivery performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of PMO Analysts while driving continuous improvement across PMO processes and standards

Key Experience Required of the PMO Lead:

  • Proven experience leading a PMO across large, complex technology portfolios with annual budgets of £20m+
  • Experience managing PMO teams and driving governance across multiple concurrent programmes
  • Strong financial management experience including portfolio budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Demonstrable experience producing executive-level reporting and presenting meaningful management information to senior stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of portfolio governance, risk, issue, dependency, and change management
  • Experience working within large-scale Agile and traditional project delivery environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and challenge at senior leadership level
  • Experience working across complex enterprise technology or digital transformation programmes
  • Previous experience within financial services or other highly regulated environments would be advantageous
