Senior Project Manager – Space Services

Responsibilities
Core Accountabilities
- End-to-end project stewardship: Drive projects through conceptualisation to completion, ensuring adherence to standards, controls, and best practices across all stages—including planning, technical performance management, and delivering quality, schedule, and budget objectives in sync with customer and business needs.
- Work-package articulation & delivery: Define and execute hardware (HW) and software (SW) needs, prioritising customer satisfaction in workflows and deliverables.
- Risk & stakeholder alignment: Capture and proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies, fostering transparency with engineering, production, validation, and quality teams to de-risk schedules and project outcomes.
- Commercial synergy: Shape new business opportunities—from proposal strategy and operating budgets to contract negotiations and modifications, influencing proposals, work statements, and specifications to maximise growth in the space industry.
- Operational oversight: gelijk unpreventably manage multi-project workloads for diverse clientele, delivering outcomes under time-sensitive and dynamic environments.

Operational Leadership
- Enforce continuous improvement, integrating feedback from internal and external stakeholders into process enhancements.
- Address complex schedule and resource bottlenecks, adjusting contracts, impacts, and stakeholder expectations.
- Drive culture of resilience and motivation, keeping teams focussed and aligned under pressure.
Required Experience & Skills
Technical & Organizational
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent/related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ progressive leadership in technical project management.
- Lifespan expertise: Acquainted with full project lifecycle—from bid proposal to project close, including gate/phase reviews and key decision points.
- Project rigour: Comfortable managing performance metrics, budgets, and resourcing—derte management/financial tools (e.g., Project Advantage, MS Project+).
- Stakeholder communication: Skilled at translating technical complexities to non-experts; adept in persuasive and persuasive negotiation.
- Excellence under pressure: Self-motivated, proactive, collaborative, and composed in agile and multi-tasking environments.
Recommended but Not Mandatory
- Space-flight hardware/software development: Direct experience in advanced payloads, avionics, or communication systems design.
- Industry frameworks: Proficiency in formal configuration control processes, ECSS standards (or equivalents), and international space oversight.
- Technical oversight: Hands-on experience with systems analysis, non-destructive testing, or empirical validation.
