Overview
Our client is an independent charity working to promote responsible investment and support the development of a financial system that better serves people and the planet.
They are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to support the effective delivery of a high-impact climate and energy programme.
Working closely with the Programme Lead, you will help ensure the programme runs smoothly by introducing and maintaining effective planning, monitoring and reporting processes. You will coordinate activity across multiple teams, support budget management and fundraising, and help keep delivery aligned with wider organisational priorities.
This is a varied role requiring strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills. One day you may be coordinating a planning or evaluation session, while another may involve preparing a budget for a funding proposal or supporting the Programme Lead with an external presentation.
The role offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work addressing major environmental and social challenges within a collaborative and purpose-led organisation.
Responsibilities
- Support the Programme Lead with the planning, coordination and delivery of the programme.
- Develop and maintain programme management systems, workplans, reporting tools and delivery processes.
- Monitor programme progress, performance, expenditure, risks, dependencies and key milestones.
- Coordinate activity across the programme team and other departments involved in delivery.
- Help ensure that projects and activities remain aligned with organisational strategy and agreed objectives.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues, programme managers and senior stakeholders.
- Organise planning, evaluation and learning sessions, including agendas, logistics and supporting materials.
- Support programme budgeting, financial forecasting and expenditure monitoring.
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets and supporting information for funding proposals.
- Assist with fundraising activity, grant reporting and funder communications.
- Support the planning and delivery of events, meetings and stakeholder engagement activity.
- Help prepare presentations, briefings, reports and other programme materials.
- Represent the programme in internal meetings and cross-organisational working groups.
- Identify and manage dependencies between teams, projects and organisational priorities.
- Promote cross-team learning, effective resource coordination and continuous improvement.
- Produce clear programme updates, reports and management information.
- Support monitoring, evaluation and learning activity to demonstrate programme impact.
- Identify delivery risks and work with colleagues to resolve issues proactively.
- Undertake other reasonable duties required to support programme and organisational objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
