About PATH

PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships, and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing health challenges.

About AI for Health

PATH’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiative is our flagship technical team working across divisions to deliver best-in-class evaluation and implementation of AI in health, spanning model evaluation to product development and service innovation. We aim to use AI to address the world’s largest health inequities.

We're looking for a program officer to help take AI health tools—generative AI-based clinical decision support, AI patient simulations for health worker training, mental health chatbots—from evidence generation to impactful real-world deployment in low- and middle-income countries. You'll sit at the centre of PATH's AI for Health team with visibility across the portfolio, working daily with project leads, funders, and international partners. It's a strong fit for an early-career project manager who wants a route into global health AI.

Responsibilities

Drive Project Delivery

  • Own operational processes across the AI for Health portfolio: keep a live picture of implementation timelines, contract and subcontract milestones, and payment deadlines; spot slippages early and flag them while there’s time to mitigate impact; and help project leadership course-correct where necessary and prepare updates for donors and other partners.
  • Track risks to delivery and make sure each has an owner and a mitigation plan, escalating to project leadership as needed.
  • Support planning and delivery of project meetings, workshops, and partner convenings, from setting agendas, pre-reads, and supporting materials to working with local partners to organise venues and travel and following up with attendees on agreed action items.
  • Flex across the wider AI Initiative on ad hoc programmatic and operational needs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Manage Partners and Deliverables

  • Serve as a consistent point of contact for project partners: collect deliverables against contractual due dates; route them for PATH review and approval; and keep payment processes moving without delay.
  • Keep project trackers accurate and current, so the team always has a reliable view of partner deliverables, timelines, and payment milestones.
  • Coordinate progress reporting to donors in collaboration with project leadership, e.g., by supporting development of slide decks and written reports.
  • Quality-check high-visibility deliverables before they go out: proofread and coordinate leadership review and sign-off.

Research Operations & Knowledge Management

  • Own PATH’s research oversight and IRB processes for the AI for Health portfolio, helping to ensure all research conducted is in line with all relevant ethical standards: manage study records from submission through closeout, managing documentation through internal and external review.
  • Keep approvals live and reviews moving: flag expiring approvals, gaps, and bottlenecks before they hold up a study.
  • Keep project files organised, current, and appropriately access-controlled, so that partners and new team members can find what they need.

This role includes occasional international travel to support project activities and partner convenings (under 10% of time). There is also opportunity to engage in primary research activities as a growth area, if the above responsibilities are in hand.

Required skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, global health, social sciences, international development, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in program management, project coordination, or a similar role, ideally within a global health or research organization.
  • Proven ability to keep multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines moving across complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information clearly for diverse audiences.
  • High attention to detail, including accurate handling of compliance-sensitive documentation
  • Comfortable collaborating across time zones with international teams and external partners.
