Programme Advisory & Capital Excellence Manager

Base Location: We would look at London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds plus a network of 20 offices nationally.

Our Programme Advisory and Capital Excellence (PACE) team sits within MPA and brings together cross-sector experts in complex project and programme delivery, strategic portfolio management, and capital delivery transformation. How you will contribute

  • Manage the delivery of client-facing workstreams, leading teams in the design and delivery of solutions that are end-user focused.
  • Produce high-quality outputs with attention to detail and execution.
  • Support engagement managers on financial and delivery aspects of engagements.
  • Collaborate across KPMG’s broader service lines to design integrated, client-tailored solutions.
  • Operate within internal governance frameworks to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
  • Monitor emerging trends and industry developments, using insights to shape practical recommendations and contribute to thought leadership.
  • Lead elements of bids, proposals, and wider business development activities.
  • Act as a role model for an inclusive, collaborative culture aligned with KPMG’s values.

Key experience required

  • Hands-on experience delivering complex infrastructure projects or programmes, either in consulting or industry.
  • Strong track record in project-based delivery, leading teams across sectors such as energy, water, transport, defence, healthcare, government, financial services, or retail.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of project, programme, and portfolio management (P3M) principles.
  • Evidence of high performance and career progression.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Confident communicator, able to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with key project tools (e.g., MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Oracle, P6, PowerBI) and knowledge of other proprietary technologies is welcome.

  • Professional certifications (APM PMQ/PPQ; MoP; MSP; PRINCE2, etc.)
  • Experience in:
    • Digital transformation and technology adoption, including AI
    • Capital planning or capital portfolio management
    • Process and value stream efficiency and optimisation
    • Organisational readiness and effectiveness
