Programme Director
Programme Director
At DEPT® – A Growth Invention Company
DEPT® is a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. As a tech and marketing hybrid with over 4,000+ specialists, we deliver growth invention across Brand & Media, Experience, Commerce, CRM, and Technology & Data. Our clients include Google, Lufthansa, Meta, eBay, and OpenAI. We’ve been Certified B Corp and Climate Neutral since 2021.
Job Purpose
We’re seeking a Programme Director to lead delivery on one of our most exciting, fast-scaling retained accounts. This role will oversee a creative-led production engine spanning four specialist pods, covering everything from generative AI and prompt-led creative to traditional shoot and stock, delivered across paid social and brand activity.
At the crossroads of Creative, Design, Production, Strategy, and Client Services, you’ll orchestrate a studio of specialists, ensuring delivery at pace and scale. Directly managing a small team of Project Managers, you’ll introduce leadership, direction, and daily support to streamline operations. This is ideal for someone who can optimise a rapidly scaled operation, identifying gaps in process and structure while maintaining momentum.
Additionally, you’ll play a crucial role in aligning global steps, partnering with US counterparts to unify workflows, identify shared tools, and ensure the UK team operates seamlessly as part of a unified studio.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be responsible for:
- Orchestrating integrated delivery across Creative, Design, Production, Strategy, and Client Services, in collaboration with Client Services leads, ensuring one cohesive team for the client.
- Building governance models, delivery cadence, and ways of working, nurturing a fast-scaling, multi-pod delivery team.
- Serving as the senior point of cross-pod alignment, clarifying priorities, timelines, and dependencies across all teams.
- Partnering with the US team to unify global operations, identifying shared tools and processes that reduce duplication and enhance efficiency.
- Bringing senior-level expertise in creative, design, and production workflows, enabling credible collaboration with craft leads.
- Running planning cycles (weekly, monthly, quarterly) by coordinating inputs from multiple specialist pods.
- Working closely with Delivery Leads, Creative Directors, Design Directors, and Strategy leads to maintain scope, priorities, risk, and resourcing clarity.
- Upstanding relationships with the client, ensuring confidence in delivery cadence, programme health, and governance, as the team scales.
- Monitoring programme health, resourcing, and efficiency, addressing challenges proactively before escalation.
- Supporting commercial management on scoping, forecasting, and change control with local and central Delivery teams.
- Defining operational excellence for the account, balancing structure and processvoid to avoid unnecessary bureaucracy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- A collaborative yet decisive approach to process design — able to engage teams while being decisive when necessary.
- A strong grasp of creative production pipelines, including motion design, content production, and AI-driven workflows.
- Impactful stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior clients and leaders, including constructive pushback.
- A highly organised, pressure-resistant mindset, experienced in large-scale headcount management while streamlining delivery.
