Programme Director

Programme Director - ITM Power & Brightsmith

About the Role

Brightsmith are retained for a new Programme Director role with ITM Power.

ITM Power is searching for an exceptional Programme Director to lead the delivery of a transformational manufacturing programme that will shape the next phase of the global hydrogen economy. Supported by £86.5 million of government funding, including investment from Great British Energy and the UK Government, ITM plans to:

  • Establish a new automated manufacturing capability in South Yorkshire.
  • Speed up the commercialisation of Chronos, ITM’s next-generation PEM electrolyser stack.

The Programme Director will be pivotal in charting this journey, overseeing multiple intricate workstreams, such as manufacturing expansion, factory fit-out, automation deployment, advanced testing infrastructure, equipment installation, commissioning, and operational readiness—all while ensuring delivery is successfully executed within key timelines.

This is a uniquely pivotal opportunity: a programme intersecting advanced manufacturing, industrial automation, energy transition, and national energy infrastructure.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
