Programme Director - Speke & Seacombe

Reports to: Regional Executive Director

Direct Reports: Programme Managers & Senior Programme Manager

Contract type: 12 Months Fixed-Term contract

Hours: 5 days per week (37.5 hours), worked between Monday–Friday Salary: Grade 1B – £58,916 – £63,717 FTE salary (5% employer pension contribution, Medicash and group life assurance, 27 days annual leave per annum for FTE plus bank holidays)

Location: Contractually based from the Liverpool office, with some flexibility to work from home (subject to business requirements and line manager approval). Travel across the UK as required.


About the Role

We are looking for a Programme Director to strategically oversee and manage the programmes across Speke and Seacombe, supporting the ‘Cradle to Career’ portfolio in Liverpool. The ideal candidate will continue leading established teams while embedding delivery and discovery plans across all workstreams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for Right to Succeed’s place-based work across Speke and Seacombe, ensuring successful programme delivery in Speke and leading the Discovery process in Seacombe.
  • Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, learning and continuous improvement.
  • Build and sustain influential partnerships with:
    • Local authorities
    • Schools
    • Communities
    • Funders
    • Strategic partners Ensuring shared ownership and long-term commitment to improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
  • Represent Right to Succeed at local and regional levels to build credibility with commissioners, funders and partners.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of:
    • Policy landscape
    • Funding opportunities
    • Public service changes affecting local authorities Translating insights into regional intelligence to inform programme development, strategic decisions and strengthen collaboration.
  • Collaborate with Liverpool City Region Directors to shape a coherent regional approach, sharing learning, solving challenges collectively and building evidence, insight and impact stories.
  • Produce high-quality reports for:
    • Board meetings
    • Funders and commissioners Demonstrating programme impact effectively.
