Programme Facilitator – Probation Service
Location: Based at NMS Brittany House (EX4 4EP), with travel required to North Devon (Barnstaple) office

Help individuals make meaningful, sustained changes in their lives as a Programme Facilitator in the Probation Service.
Role Overview
The HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) mission:
- Intervene with harmful behaviours to reduce reoffending.
- Deliver accredited programmes and structured interventions to offenders subject to Community Orders or on licence post-prison.
- Target audiences:
- Persons who perpetrated domestic abuse, sexual abuse, or violent/acquisitive offences.
- Aim: Foster probability desistance, risk reduction, protection, and whole-life rehabilitation.
Key tasks include:
- Delivering structured groupwork and individual work sessions.
- Empowering participants with pro-social skills, mindset shifts, and positive lifeways.
- Tailoring interventions to diverse offence types and risk levels (including high-risk sexual/ abusive offences).
Working Arrangements
- Evening-centric programme delivery (essential aspect of the role).
- Multisite travel: Required for sessions outside the primary office location.
- Unsocial hours payment:
- +30% premium for evening shifts (Mon–Fri).
- +50% premium for work on Saturdays.

Salary & Progression
- Starting pay: £28,064 (minimum of the pay band, appropriate for *new entrants).
- Pay progression via Competency-Based Framework (CBF):
- Competence-based progression enables movement within the pay range.
- Annual pay increments align with Civil Service Pay guidance.
- Post-training, salary placement may differ based on alignment with pay band minimum.

Eligibility & Right-to-Work Process
- Must demonstrate legal right to work in the UK.
- From 22 July 2025, Skilled Worker visa eligibility criteria change:
- Existing Visa Holders: Only PM-identified transitions (prior visa continuity to 2025 benchmark).
- No new sponsor eligibility for this role post-22/07/2025.
- Foreground Fee Compliance: Civil Service nationality rules (see [ adhere.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa ]) apply.
Security & Vetting
- Mandatory criminal record checks.
- Baseline personnel security standard checks applicable.
