Role Description
Position: Programme Lead – Teacher Training
Salary: Qualified Lecturer Salary L5 and above (P27-P35 £32,186.70 - £40,015.50 full time equivalent)
The ‘Programme Lead – Teacher Training’ will be responsible for delivering high-quality teacher training provision across the college. This role is crucial in developing the teaching practice and pedagogy of college staff, aligning with the college's strategic ambitions and the TLA Strategy. The ultimate goal is to raise the standard of teaching, learning, and assessment practices to positively impact learners' and apprentices' experiences and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design a range of teacher training programmes, ensuring the design meets DfE and Ofsted expectations.
- Plan and deliver a high-quality teacher training offer and series of programmes that model best practice.
- Assess and mark trainees' work, providing high-quality feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Track trainees' progress, ensuring they complete in a timely fashion, and collaborate with the Quality Team and curriculum managers to provide support where required.
- Ensure that assessed work is moderated and standardized and meets awarding body expectations as a minimum.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLs, or equivalent teaching qualification
- At least 5 years’ experience in teaching and/or training roles.
- Experience as an advanced practitioner, coach, or mentor
- Practical experience of classroom management of learners with challenging behaviors
- The ability to motivate and inspire staff
- Extensive knowledge of TLA and pedagogy and educational research and literature
