About The Role

This part-time, permanent position is ideal for individuals with valuable experience in IT or Computing, seeking a dynamic teaching role within the Sixth Form.

You will:

  • Lead IT and Computing curriculum with a focus on innovation, academic excellence, and outstanding teaching practices.
  • Support academic planning and implementation of sequenced learning schemes.
  • Deliver exemplary teaching, assessment, and guidance to oversee student progression.

About The Candidate

Ideal candidates possess:

  • A degree in IT or Computing.
  • Qualified lecturer or teacher status or relevant experience.
  • Passion for teaching IT/Computing.

Role Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development & Leadership

    • Collaborate with curriculum managers to develop and enhance IT/Computing programmes.
    • Maintain accurate data at programme level for continual improvement.
  • Teaching & Assessment Excellence

    • Lead exceptional teaching and learning with high standards of assessment.
    • Provide inclusive, careers-focused learning via structured schemes and tailored resources.
  • Student Support & Intervention

    • Advise guidance for student success, with robust tracking for attendance, progress, and wellbeing.
    • Address safeguarding concerns collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate degree in IT/Computing.
  • Minimum Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Specialist knowledge in developing, delivering, and assessing IT/Computing subjects.
  • Collaborative skills to review student progress and support personal development goals.
  • Ability to design inclusive, safe, relevant, and stretching learning environments.
  • Experience motivating students' confidence, autonomy, and critical thinking.
  • Utilise effective assessments, SMART targets, and constructive feedback.
  • Incorporate creative learning methods (digital, maths, and employability skill-building).
