Company Description

Join us at Greene King the country's leading pub company and brewer, where our mission is to pour happiness into lives and become the pride of great British hospitality. We have something special, deeply rooted in our 220-year brewing and pub history, creating the business we are proudly known for today. Job Description

As a Programme Manager in Greene King’s Group Planning and Delivery team, you’ll lead high-impact programmes and projects that turn strategy into action. Working with teams across the business, you’ll shape clear plans, align stakeholders, and drive delivery of complex, commercially focused change, ensuring we deliver the right outcomes, in the right way at pace.

You’ll bring strong governance, data-led reporting and financial oversight to manage risk, track performance and realise benefits. A key focus area for the role will be to embed sustainable people, process and technology change into business-as-usual, in addition to maximising return on our investments, working towards the delivery of our strategic goals.

Qualifications

As Programme Manager, you will…

  • Develop and maintain end-to-end programme plans (scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables and dependencies) to ensure strategic programmes and projects are delivered on time.
  • Line manage a multi-disciplined team, proactively leading the delivery of projects within a programme and/or portfolio.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams and stakeholders across the business to drive alignment, collaboration, and clear ownership throughout the programme/project lifecycle.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and goals, resource allocation, and prioritisation based on business value.
  • Establish effective governance, reporting, performance metrics and risk management to track progress, manage issues, and support timely decision-making on strategic priorities.
  • Deliver sustainable people, process and technology change by applying structured change management and ensuring smooth transition of outcomes into business-as-usual (BAU).
  • Own programme financials by building budgets, monitoring spend and producing robust cost/benefit and ROI analysis to maximise value from group investment.
  • Define, track, and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to project delivery, outcomes and benefits.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
