Programme Manager – Discover Economics
Job Summary
Title: Programme Manager – Discover Economics
Reports to: Head of Discover Economics
Location: Base in Westminster, Central London (hybrid model: Mondays onsite; occasional UK travel)
Salary: £35,000 PA
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: 1-year fixed term (with potential to extend dependent on funding)
Job Overview
An opportunity to play a pivotal role in the next phase of Discover Economics. Responsible for coordinating delivery across diverse activities, ensuring high-quality execution and measurable outcomes for successful impact with key stakeholders. The role involves:
- Acting as the operational programme lead
- Strengthening existing partnerships
- Expanding outreach initiatives to broaden access to economics for under-represented groups (age range: 15–17)

Operational & Delivery Leadership
- Lead national outreach initiatives (schools, Young Economist of the Year Competition, ambassador programmes, workshops, and career resources)
- Maintain partnership and stakeholder management (Academic Champions, funders)
- Develop and deliver scalable virtual work experience programmes
- Coordinate with Head of Discover Economics & Communications Officer on branding and quality assurance
Data-Driven Development
- Use monitoring/evaluation data to inform improvements and outreach expansion
- Produce stakeholder reports and planning documentation
- Contribute to programme strategy, budget management, and process optimisation
Advocacy & External Engagement
- Represent programme at external events (young people, educators, investors)
- Support development of sector priorities and programme objectives
- Foster new collaborations and partnerships for broader impact

Essential Requirements
✔ Degree-level education or equivalent qualification ✔ Proven record of outreach initiatives delivery (meeting time/success metrics) ✔ Experience managing partnership relationships ✔ Ability to oversee new initiatives development (from concept to execution) ✔ Strong operational/financial planning (budget/resource allocation) ✔ Commitment to diversity and inclusion in education ✔ Excellent verbal/written communication (multi-stakeholder outreach) ✔ Experience using data/evaluation to improve impact and processes ✔ Independency with a flexible problem-solving mindset
