** Programme Manager – Personalised Stratified Follow-Up & Prehabilitation**
Location: Southampton/Dorchester (Hybrid: Minimum 2 on-site days) Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Wessex Cancer Alliance Neighbourhoods and Living with and Beyond Cancer Team as a Project Manager.
This role combines two key elements:
- Personalised Stratified Follow-Up (PSFU) Programme: Lead, facilitate and implement PSFU protocols across Wessex, collaborating with tumour-specific clinical groups to achieve consensus on eligibility, stratification, monitoring and escalation. Work with digital, clinical and operational teams to expand PSFU into new tumour pathways while supporting existing ones.
- Prehabilitation Programme: Coordinate prehabilitation activities, align with stakeholders across acute, community and voluntary sectors, and ensure path-centred service changes are implemented effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Management & Delivery
- Facilitate cross-stakeholder agreement to refine PSFU protocols via clinical groups, balancing differing perspectives and fostering consensus.
- Oversee ** governance tracking** and progress across the loyalty system, mitigating risks.
- Lead implementation of PSFU models and suppression and support consolidation.
- Work closely with digital and operational partners (e.g., trusts, CCGs) to embed PSFU into additional tumour pathways.
Prehabilitation Programme Support
- Collaborate with the Clinical Advisor and wider team to advance a prehabilitation pathway, aligning with Acute, Community and Volunteer sector re-entry.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary deliverance of prehab-enabled service improvements across the Wessex footprint (Hampshire, Dorset, Isle of Wight).
Stakeholder Engagement & System Toxicity
- Champion patient-centred service pathways, encouraging co-design and collaborative engagement with HDOs, public authorities and the sector.
- Build strong relationships with clinical and operational stakeholders, fostering consensus while managing complex stakeholder dynamics.

Duty Profile
- Location: Multiple Wessex sites with minimum 2 on-site days per week (Batham/Drachenster preferred base).
- Travel: Required to visits across Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight for planning, feedback and implementation support.
- Hybrid contract offers Baro work arrangements.

✅ Required Experience
• Significant service improvement/transformation experience in cancer care and long-term conditions or equitable equivalent. • Special understanding of Living with Cancer – from personal sensing (rehab, survivorship). • Strong project/operation management skills with trackable tools (e.g. PRINCE2, Lean). • Capability to facilitate programmes and guide stakeholders thru change with minimal direction. • Clinical cooperation, academic coaching, teaching or equivalent. • Demonstrated skills sailing research lanciations between teams.
✅ Interpersonal
• Visibility-second leadership to navigate guidance trait abstraction, and ( conflictiation) naufragio mitigation. • High personal resilience skills and good, visibly virtual decision-level Navel/step. (Social and technological).
Person Specifications
Essential Knowledge/Skills
✔️ Postgraduate mastery EQVLL w/ evidence of leadership in Health/Org setting. ✔️ Adherence to relevant professional body standards. ✔️ Comprehensive project/improvement expertise across multi-discipline. ✔️ Certified PRINCE2 equivalent or industry-recognised experience. ✔️ Present knowledge of IC Quality/Service Improvement frameworks (Q+SI 1-3, DMAIC). ✔️ Senior career delivery of tube and specialist projects and cross-departmental collaboration. ✔️ Extensive autonomy and boundary-bridge cooperation. ✔️ Flexural analytic model-contious material /behaviour/attic and present this to multiple audiences.
A plus
✔️ QSIR college associate member certification. ✔️ Coaching/mentoring or E-learning experience end-to-end. ✔️ Healthcare clinician background or integral local health work. ✔️ Nodes' phobia leadership with clarification or database recovery and erosion of barriers.
