Programme Officer (DClinPsy)

The Doctoral College provides support to all prospective and current doctoral students to enable them to join and thrive in our research community!

We are seeking a highly organised Programmes Officer to support the operational delivery of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) and associated CPD provision.

About The Role

This is a varied and demanding role providing direct support to DClinPsy trainees, the Programme Manager, Clinical and Academic Directors, and others involved in delivering this professional doctorate programme. It supports the coordination of a complex, professionally regulated programme in which trainees are both University students and NHS employees, ensuring effective delivery across teaching, placements, and research in line with University, NHS, and relevant regulatory frameworks.

You will work closely with academic staff, NHS partners, and professional services colleagues, acting as a key operational point of contact to ensure the smooth running of programme processes.

The role includes coordinating delivery across teaching, placements, and assessments; managing trainee progression, records, and compliance; and supporting governance activities such as Boards, Exam Boards, and Fitness to Practise procedures. You will also liaise with NHS partners and external stakeholders, maintain accurate systems and reporting, and provide line management to a Programme Administrator.

About You

You will have:

  • experience in a busy administrative or programme coordination role
  • proven ability to manage complex processes and competing priorities
  • strong organisational, communication, and data management skills
  • the ability to work independently within established frameworks

Experience within higher education, the NHS, or professional training environments would be an advantage.

Further information

This is a full-time, open-ended position. A minimum of two days per week on campus is required, with a flexible approach to a blend of on-site and remote working offered in line with university policy, following an initial onboarding period in the role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
