The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Programme Manager to lead the delivery of complex digital security programmes across large-scale mission-critical and data centre developments.
Working within a multidisciplinary project environment, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, design, coordination and delivery of integrated electronic security systems from concept through to commissioning. You will provide leadership across multiple project teams, ensuring programmes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards.
This role is a good fit for someone with a consultancy, engineering, or client-side programme management background and extensive experience delivering security infrastructure in hyperscale data centres, critical facilities, or other high-security environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of multiple digital security programmes across major data centre developments.
- Coordinate and manage project managers responsible for individual workstreams and regional projects.
- Provide programme governance, reporting and stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage the design development process for electronic security systems from RIBA concept through detailed design and construction.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including security consultants, MEP consultants, architects and specialist vendors.
- Oversee specialist security contractors throughout installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
- Ensure all security systems comply with client specifications, industry standards and operational requirements.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, procurement activities and change control.
- Review technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, security strategies and commissioning documentation.
- Coordinate fit-out contractors to ensure security installations integrate seamlessly with construction activities.
- Lead design reviews, vendor workshops and technical coordination meetings.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are followed throughout the programme.
- Support operational readiness and transition into live environments.
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
