Programme Security Lead

Leonardo UK – Programme Security Lead (PSL)

Salary Range: £66,960 - £97,515

Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. The salary range shown reflects the approved grade band for this role or a narrower hiring range within that band, benchmarked against the external market. Exceptions above the standard range are managed through governance controls to protect internal equity.

About the Role

Leonardo UK is seeking a Programme Security Lead (PSL) to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division. The PSL will act as the de facto Head of Security for Future Combat Air (FCAS) ambitions, including GCAP and related national programmes—a mission-critical initiative for both UK PLC and Leonardo.

As the focal point for security across the programme, the role ensures adherence to contractual and internal security policies while providing leadership to the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO).

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central contact for all security-related domains, advising key stakeholders (primarily the SRO).
  • Identify, measure, record, and manage security risks on behalf of the SRO.
  • Oversee and owned critical programme security artefacts (e.g. Security Management Plan, Security Risk Register).
  • Enforce compliance with contractual security requirements, supporting both internal and external security audits.
  • Validate third-party adherence to contractual obligations and oversee supplier risk assurance.
  • Develop and provide security reporting to governance boards, senior leadership, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Act as the point of escalation for security incidents and provide executive-level briefings.
  • Embed a positive security culture within the programme and drive initiatives aligned with LCSUK/LDOUK policies.
  • Collaborate with internal security functions and 외국영도 across Leonardo.
  • Lead a team of security SMEs within the programme while fostering knowledge-sharing within the broader security officer community.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
