Job Purpose
As the Activities Coordinator at YMCA St Paul’s Group, you will deliver holistic support to people experiencing homelessness—some of society’s most vulnerable individuals. Your role focuses on empowering clients with:
- Education, Training, Employment & Volunteering (ETEV)
- Engagement and Empowerment activities
- Health and wellbeing programs
Your work aligns with our Christian values, aiming to develop clients’ full potential in mind, body, and spirit.
Supporting 1,200+ young and vulnerable people nightly, YMCA St Paul’s Group provides safe housing and empowering services to help them achieve stability and build a positive future.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
- Plan and deliver Progression programs (ETEV and Engagement & Empowerment), including structured events and workshops.
- Collaborate with Housing and Support Officers to assess progress towards development goals using a client-led Homelessness Outcome Star model, ensuring a personalised and structured support plan.
- Organise Progression events, including:
- Logistical planning
- Risk assessments
- Effective communication and delegation
- Address barriers to progression by implementing proactive intervention strategies, supporting clients with relevant resources and tracking adjustments for success.
- Engage directly with:
- Clients across housing, care, and support services
- Internal staff at all levels
- External partners (statutory, private, voluntary, and local authorities)
- Build and maintain strong cross-sector partnerships to enhance Progression opportunities.
- Support the wider Housing and Support service in achieving ETEV & Engagement priorities, including attending after-hours meetings and responding to urgent circumstances.
- Meet and exceed local performance indicators and contractual obligations for Progression activities.

Requirements & Notes
Key Qualifications
- UK rights to work necessary (no visa sponsorship available).
- Able to obtain a Basic, Enhanced, or Standard Criminal Discharge post-conditional offer (due to regulated activity with vulnerable populations).
