Job Purpose

As our Activities Coordinator, you will provide holistic support to individuals affected by homelessness—some of society’s most vulnerable. Your role focuses on driving progress through Engagement, Training, Employment, and Volunteering (ETEV), alongside Health and Wellbeing activities.

At the heart of this role is our belief in empowering clients to develop their full potential in mind, body, and spirit, grounded in our Christian values.

YMCA St Paul’s Group supports 1,200+ young and vulnerable people each night, offering comprehensive supported housing(〜 disagregewes)。 We provide:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver Progression Activities
    • Plan and execute ETEV (Education, Training, Employment, Volunteering) and Engagement & Empowerment initiatives, including routinely scheduled Progression events.
  • Work with Housing & Support Teams
    • Collaborate with Housing and Support Officers to assess and oversee developmental needs, driven by a client-centred Homelessness Outcome Star framework; aim for stability and structure for every client.
  • Logistics & Communication
    • Coordinate logistics (including risk assessments) for Progression events and manage communications as delegated.
  • Proactive Intervention
    • Identify and address barriers to progress, including proactive support, referrals to external services, and monitoring client progression to ensure long-term success.
  • Networking & Partnerships
    • Engage with clients, YMCA SPG staff, external partners, voluntary organisations, and government agencies as required.
  • Develop Strategic Partnerships
    • Cultivate multi-sector (e.g., public, private, voluntary) collaborations to enhance ethical and effective Progression opportunities.
  • Integration with Housing Services
    • Align with Housing Service priorities, including attendance at after-hours meetings and responding to evolving local demands.
  • Performance Oversight
    • Ensure attainment of key performance indicators (KPIs) and contractual obligations related to Progression activities within Housing, Support, and Care services.
