Location: Cardiff, CF10 3BW
Salary: £30,000 plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Permanent, Full-time, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (30-minute lunch break)

As a Progression Job Coach in our Employment, Skills and Enterprise team, you’ll support people on the Restart scheme to overcome barriers, build confidence and move into sustainable employment. Your work will help people take positive steps towards long-term career success while creating a positive impact on communities.
You’ll build trusted relationships with participants, helping them identify goals, develop new skills and progress into meaningful employment. Through personalised coaching and practical support, you’ll help create better futures for individuals and their families while giving people the headroom to grow and succeed.
What you’ll do as a Progression Job Coach
- Manage a caseload of participants, guiding them through the full Restart journey from engagement through to sustained employment
- Deliver one-to-one coaching, needs assessments and tailored action plans to address barriers to work
- Provide practical employability support including CV writing, job applications, interview preparation and job search techniques
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with participants, motivating and supporting them to achieve their goals
- Work with employers and internal teams to identify opportunities and match participants to suitable roles
- Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with contract requirements and customer service standards
Does this sound like you?
- Experience in coaching, mentoring or supporting individuals into employment or education
- A genuine passion for helping people succeed and making a positive difference in communities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence others
- Experience working in a target-driven or performance-focused environment
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate, high-quality records
- Good understanding of the Welsh language

Vetting and checks:
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help ensure the right support is in place for you to succeed in the role.
