Project Accountant

Project Accountant – Thales ISR UK

Location: Crawley, United Kingdom (minimum 3 days on site) Closing Date for Applications: Friday, 17th July 2026

Thales ISR UK seeks an experienced Project Accountant to bolster our expanding programme portfolio. This role will allow you to shape project delivery, ensure financial integrity, and support high-profile programmes. You’ll collaborate with a multi-disciplinary UK-based team in Crawley and our Business Line colleagues in France, working closely with Project Managers, Controllers, Commercial teams, Engineering, Production, and Finance Leadership.

The ideal candidate thrives in problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and driving projects toward business goals.


Your Responsibilities

  • Project financial control – Monitor spend, track delivery, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Budget ownership – Analyse and communicate project budgets, variances, risks, and opportunities.
  • Stakeholder partnership – Support Project Managers with ETC/EAC, schedule impacts, and financial decision-making.
  • Risk & opportunity management – Identify, quantify, and report risks and opportunities across the portfolio.
  • ERP & reporting accuracy – Ensure correct project set-ups, cost capture, cash-flow forecasting, and monthly PMR preparation.
  • Bid support – Contribute to new bids with financial insight and adherence to the Chorus process.
  • Continuous improvement – Support tool development, mentor colleagues, and uphold Thales values and ethics.

Thales operates under strict security requirements. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). While currently held is advantageous, Thales will sponsor successful applicants to obtain clearance if not already held.

UK Residency Eligibility

  • Typically, 5 years’ UK residence in the past 5 years.
  • Some exceptions allow 3+ years with additional checks—visit UK Security Vetting for further guidance.
