Project Accountant
Project Accountant – ebblo International
ebblo International, a leading provider of intelligent transport systems and part of the Modaxo Group, is continuing its strong growth journey and is looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join the team.
This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of financial performance across large, complex hardware and software projects—helping drive commercial success in a growing, international business.
Hybrid working – predominantly remote, with 1 day per week in Chippenham office
About the Role
As Project Accountant, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end financial management of projects from bid stage through to completion. Working closely with Project Managers and Engineering teams, you’ll provide robust financial control, reporting, and commercial insight to support decision-making and improve project performance.
This is a high-impact business partnering role, combining technical accounting with commercial influence.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
- Manage financial performance across multiple projects (costs, revenue, margins)
- Maintain project P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts
- Deliver monthly reporting, variance analysis, and risk/opportunity insights
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition, compliance with IFRS, and adherence to internal policies
- Support month-end and year-end processes

Business Partnering & Project Support
- Partner with Project Managers to drive better commercial decisions
- Contribute to project reviews, providing clear financial commentary
- Support contract negotiations, pricing, and change management
- Provide financial input into bids and project proposals
Forecasting & Planning
- Lead project-level forecasting (revenue, cost, margin, cash, working capital)
- Support budgeting cycles and long-term financial planning
Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
- Identify financial risks and support mitigation strategies
- Drive improvements in processes, reporting, and efficiency (including use of AI tools)
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / ACMA) with post-qualification experience
- Proven experience in project accounting or project control within engineering, manufacturing, or software environments
- Strong understanding of long-term project accounting (PoC, WIP, revenue recognition)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability (ERP experience beneficial)
- Commercial mindset with ability to turn data into actionable insights
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-finance teams
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment
