A commercially minded qualified accountant with strong technical skills / financial modelling is needed to join a dynamic growing business based in Exeter as a Project Accountant.

This is a new position due to continued growth and is a rare opportunity for a proactive finance professional to join a business that is leading the way in its sector and where you will be part of a team genuinely make a difference in this fast-paced company.

Reporting to the Head of Finance you will be responsible for:

  • Project management for several multi stakeholder commercial projects.
  • Preparing commercial financial models and budgets.
  • Financial modelling generation and manipulation.
  • Assisting with tender document preparation and evaluation of tenders.
  • Business case drafting.
  • Relationship management with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial structuring and soft market testing with financial markets.
  • Ad hoc project work.

  • Full time hours: Mon – Fri 40 hours.
  • Part time hours: Min 3 days per week / 24 hours per week.
  • Location: Hybrid office/home (you need to be based within commuting distance of Exeter).

Project Accountant -The Person

We are keen to hear from ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified accountants with excellent technical knowledge, and a background in financial analysis, corporate finance, or financial modelling. An understanding of commercial model creation process or business case drafting is desirable.

You will be a self-starter with a high energy approach and a desire to work in a fast-paced, change environment. With a track record including financial analysis or financial modelling and a proven ability in delivering accurate financial and management reporting.

  • You’ll be a first-rate communicator with strong verbal and written skills; able to inspire, persuade, influence and work in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the business.
  • A natural problem-solver with excellent analytical skills – able to analyse, understand and explain complex information to non-finance staff at all levels.
  • Excel skills including use of formulas, look ups and pivot tables as well as PowerPoint or similar presentation software experience are essential.
