The Role
In this position, you will lead education projects from RIBA Stage 1 to completion, blending design excellence with operational leadership. You’ll oversee consultant relationships, client communications, and technical delivery to uphold highest design standards across projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Project leadership: Act as lead architect for multi-stage education projects
- Team coordination: Manage cross-disciplinary consultants (structural engineers, M&E, etc.)
- Client engagement: Present designs, refine scope, and ensure stakeholder alignment
- Programme control: Monitor deadlines, budgets, and design quality meticulously
- Technical assurance: Oversee regulatory compliance (Planning, Building Regulations) and documentation
- Reputation care: Embed the practice's design excellence principle in decision-making
Key Requirements
- 5+ years’ post-qualified experience (PQE)
- Substantial education sector experience (schools, colleges, or associated environments)
- Proficiency in Revit (preferred for inscriptions/health and safety documentation) and AutoCAD
- Self-assured client-facing ability with a track record of translating complexities into persuasive design narratives
- Familiarity with Department for Education (DfE) frameworks a considerable advantage
- Lucidity: Ability to explain complex cutting-edge design solutions concisely
