About the Role
The Isaac Science Project is seeking a passionate chemist/biochemist to join their team. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team of physicists, mathematicians, chemists, and biologists to support students nationally in enhancing their understanding of chemistry and encouraging applications to research-intensive universities. This is achieved through the Isaac Science free online platform (https://isaacscience.org) and a weekly programme of work and tutorials in their STEM SMART programme (https://www.undergraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/stem-smart).
Responsibilities
- Resource Production and Quality Assurance: Develop online and print resources to cover core topics within the school Chemistry curriculum from Key Stage 3 through to university.
- Online and In-Person Teaching: Deliver online tutorials to large and small groups of students and prepare and deliver in-person lectures.
- Collaboration: Work under the direction of the Senior Project Chemist and the Assistant Director of Isaac Science.

Requirements
- Educational Background: Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
- Teaching Experience: Taught at secondary school and/or university level.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent eye for detail and accuracy.
- Technical Skills: Significant experience with LaTeX, HTML, drawing packages such as Inkscape, and familiarity with video and sound editing software.
- Problem Solving: Willingness to learn new tools and problem-solve.
Role Details
- Position Type: Full-time. Job sharing considered.
- Start Date: Ideally by the beginning of January 2027.
- Funding: Available until 31 January 2029 with potential extension.
