Project Civil Engineer - Cambridge

About the Role

Are you a Civil Design Engineer looking for your next step in a high-performing consultancy environment? If you are motivated to take ownership of projects and further your professional development, this role could be the ideal move.

I am working with a leading consultancy in Cambridge that is looking to recruit a Project Civil Engineer. With 3+ years of UK civil infrastructure design experience, this is an opportunity to take on more responsibility while being supported by an experienced leadership team.

The Opportunity

You will:

  • Manage your own smaller schemes

  • Support senior engineers on larger, complex developments

  • Work on a varied portfolio including:

    • Private residential schemes
    • New housing developments
    • Education and science-related projects
    • Urban regeneration and public realm design

The workload includes strong collaboration with structural engineering teams, exposing you to multi-disciplinary project delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
