Project Controls Engineer - Planning (Defence)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + bonus + car allowance
Location: Hybrid/Bristol - you could be expected on site up to 3x per week
Outsource UK are recruiting for a Project Controls Engineer - Planning to join a growing Defence team supporting the delivery of high-profile infrastructure projects and programmes across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional to play a key role in project controls, supporting complex and challenging defence programmes. You will work alongside experienced project controls specialists, project managers, and programme teams to develop, maintain, and analyse project schedules, ensuring successful delivery against key milestones and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain project schedules aligned with project requirements and objectives.
- Develop and update project programmes in collaboration with project managers and wider project teams.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define scope and develop detailed schedules and performance reporting.
- Monitor project progress, identify schedule variances, and highlight areas of potential risk.
- Analyse critical paths, dependencies, and constraints to assess the impact of changes and delays.
- Provide recommendations and recovery plans to mitigate schedule impacts.
- Support project managers with change management processes and schedule updates.
- Produce planning and performance reporting to support project decision-making.
- Contribute to continuous improvement within planning and project controls processes.

Skills & Experience Required

- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience within a project controls environment.
- Experience working within project or programme management environments, supporting the delivery or control of projects, programmes, or portfolios.
- Strong understanding of Project Controls principles and methodologies.
- Primavera P6
- Power BI
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience developing, maintaining, and analysing project schedules.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
