Location: Christchurch or Yeovil Salary: Up to £43,000 (dependent on skills and experience)

About the Role

This Senior Project Controller position demands analytical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the drive to refine project governance and delivery processes. You’ll collaborate with project teams to refine methodologies, implement tools, and foster consistent outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop tailored project control systems aligned with project/portfolio needs and agree frameworks with Project Managers (PMs) and work content owners
- Define project scope and cost estimates during the bid stage for projects requiring project control
- Coordinate with PMs to determine project requirements, schedule objectives, and deliver robust scheduling plans
- Conduct regular progress reviews with PMs/owners to assess performance, risk, and project health
- Update project control tools—including schedules, budget baselines (e.g., earned value tracking), and risk registers—using review outputs
- Analyse and communicate project data, conducting cost/schedule risk assessments, baseline comparisons, and earned value analysis
- Curate project reports in standardised formats for governance bodies and contribute financial summary statements
- Ensure compliance by maintaining strict control over schedule and budget baselines, accurately capturing any change impacts

Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree-level qualification or demonstrable comparable expertise through practical experience
- Extensive planning, monitoring, and control experience in commercial or project-driven environments
- Expert-level knowledge of one or more project control tools and methodologies
- Familiarity with project control governance frameworks, such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs)
- Ability to influence internal stakeholders, articulate findings, and uphold best practice across the organisation
