At Jacobs

We're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery, and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your Impact

You’ll help our project teams make better decisions.

As a Cost Analyst, you'll play a key role in understanding how projects are performing financially, helping teams stay on track, identify risks early, and make informed decisions. Your insight will directly influence the delivery of major transportation projects across aviation, highways, and rail.

This isn't a role where you're simply producing reports. You'll work alongside project managers and technical specialists to understand what's happening on projects, challenge assumptions, improve forecasting, and provide the financial visibility that helps projects succeed.

Your work will help ensure our clients receive value for money, our teams can make confident decisions, and our projects are delivered efficiently.

Whether you're already working in project controls, cost management, commercial finance, or project accounting, this is an opportunity to build your expertise and develop a long-term career in one of the most in-demand areas of project delivery.

About The Opportunity

We're growing our Transportation Project Controls team to support an increasing portfolio of major infrastructure projects across aviation, highways, and rail.

In this role, you'll help project teams understand how their projects are performing financially, providing the insight, forecasting, and cost analysis needed to make informed decisions and deliver successful outcomes. Working closely with Project Managers, commercial teams, and senior project controls professionals, you'll identify trends, challenge assumptions, and help improve project performance across a diverse range of programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in cost analysis, project accounting, financial analysis, or project controls who wants to develop their career within infrastructure and project delivery. You'll gain exposure to complex, high-profile projects while building sought-after skills in forecasting, budgeting, cost management, and project performance that will support your long-term career growth.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
